Dr. Jur. Ihab Amro is an Assistant Professor of Private Law and a practicing lawyer and a chartered arbitrator. He holds PhD from the Athens Law School in Greece awarded in early 2011. He has published several books in both English and Arabic, including a book on the recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards under Cambridge Scholars Publishing in 2014, which has been included in the Bibliography of 1958 New York Convention Guide of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law ‘UNCITRAL’. Also, he has published articles in numerous well-known international law journals, including the Hague Yearbook of International Law, the Arbitration Journal of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the Vindobona Journal of International Commercial Law and Arbitration, the Romanian Journal of Arbitration, and the Slovenian Arbitration Review. He is a member of several international arbitration organisations, including the Young International Arbitration Group of the London Court of International Arbitration (YIAG), in England; the ICC Young Arbitrators’ Forum (YAF), in France; the Association of Attenders and Alumni of The Hague Academy of International Law, in the Netherlands; the Young Austrian Arbitration Practitioners (YAAP); the Moot Alumni Association (MAA), in Austria; and the ICCA Young members, in Switzerland. He is fluent in English, Greek, German and French, and also he has a knowledge of both Italian and Hungarian. His current research focuses mainly on online dispute resolution techniques (‘ODR’). He is a post-doctoral researcher at Central European University (CEU) in Budapest.
